Turkey Red is the parent to many varieties of hard red winter wheat in the United States. This Turkey Red wheat seed has been grown in Kansas since the 1870s. Straw height can reach upwards of four feet in areas with 20-inches plus moisture. It is adaptable to wet, dry, hot and cold areas.It does require a hard freeze in the winter to develop grain to harvest the following summer.
